Allegiant Announces New Base of Operations and Travel Options From the San Francisco Bay Area


OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Allegiant (Nasdaq:ALGT) announces the establishment of a new base of operations at Oakland International Airport (OAK) as of April 26, 2012. The company will base two 166 seat, MD-80 series jet aircraft at the airport and create jobs for approximately 60 people including: flight attendants, pilots, mechanics and airport service personnel. In conjunction with the base, Allegiant will begin new, nonstop air service to the Bay Area from seven markets. The carrier will offer introductory fares as low as $29.99* one-way, including taxes and fees, to the following cities from Oakland International Airport:

  1. Billings, Mont. – begins April 26 with fares as low as $39.99* each way
  2. Bozeman, Mont. – begins April 27 with fares as low as $39.99* each way
  3. Kalispell, Mont. – begins April 27 with fares as low as $39.99* each way
  4. Idaho Falls, Idaho – begins April 27 with fares as low as $39.99* each way
  5. Medford, Ore. – begins April 26 with fares as low as $29.99* each way
  6. Missoula, Mont. – begins April 27 with fares as low as $39.99* each way
  7. Redmond, Ore. – begins April 26 with fares as low as $29.99* each way

The Oakland International Airport is Allegiant's eighth base of operations. Allegiant currently provides service to three destinations from Oakland International Airport including, Bellingham, Wash., Eugene, Ore. and Phoenix-Mesa, Ariz.

Allegiant's $29.99* and $39.99* one-way fares are limited, not available on all flights and must be purchased by Feb. 15, 2012 for travel by Aug. 14, 2012.
