HONG KONG, Feb. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At City Telecom (HK) Limited (HKSE:1137) (Nasdaq:CTEL), we strive to nurture our Talents for well-rounded skill sets, by diverse exposure and education opportunities. Among the Group's various education partnership programmes, we are delighted to see the rich results of our "Talent∞" (pronounced as "Talent-Infinity") education co-investment programme. After six years of execution, we now proudly stand at 75% of our top 39 senior management Talents have or are in the process of gaining a Master's degree, up from only 15% in 2006.
Launched in 2006, the "Talent∞" education co-investment programme aims at grooming our management Talents to develop as multi-skilled business entrepreneurs, as well as supporting them to fulfill dreams of gaining a world-class eMBA/ MBA degrees. With the conviction that an engaged and capable pool of Talents shall drive us forward as a make-a-positive-difference pioneer and industry leader, we co-invest the course fees, from 30% to 100%, making the total investment to HK$3.6 million since launch. Through the years, 17 Talents have been supported to acquire their eMBA/ MBA degree, while one will be graduating this year.
As a 20-year young and aggressive company, we believe that pursuing a post-graduate degree would provide valuable exposure opportunities for our young management Talents to unleash their potentials and benchmark with other industries' leaders. This is why we have such investments and would see master's qualifications as basic "hygiene" factor for our management grade.
Graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong EMBA in 2009, Kennis Tsang, Associate Director of Customer Relations, HKBN said, "EMBA helps me to stop and think what I am doing. We always focus to solve the problem right in front of our eyes, but overlook the ways and tools on hand."
"There is neither the best timing for learning, nor the maximized benefit. Different gains can always be explored by action, but it never comes with waiting," said Jelly Zhou, Operation Manager, HKBN, who is now pursuing her MBA at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
