Protegrity and Securosis Demystify PCI DSS Tokenization Guidelines

New White Paper and Webinar Provide Foundation for Selecting Tokenization Solutions and Insight Into PCI DSS Compliance

STAMFORD, CT--(Marketwire - Feb 8, 2012) - Protegrity USA, Inc. a leading provider of end-to-end data security solutions, has joined forces with Securosis, an information security research firm, to address the confusion around the PCI DSS tokenization guidelines administered by the PCI Council in August and help companies evaluate and select a tokenization solution.

On February 15, 2012, Protegrity will hold a webinar featuring Securosis analyst and CTO Adrian Lane and Ulf Mattsson, CTO of Protegrity and the inventor of Protegrity Tokenization. Together, Lane and Mattsson will explore how to deploy tokenization solutions within the scope of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and their perspectives on how the data security community can benefit from this promising technology.

The webinar will expand upon a white paper sponsored by Protegrity and written by Lane entitled, "Tokenization Guidance: How to reduce PCI compliance costs." Each registered attendee of the webinar will get a copy of the white paper. "Today's security landscape is nothing if not dynamic, making it continually unchartered territory for enterprises," said Ulf Mattsson, CTO of Protegrity. "Through the webinar and white paper we hope to shed light on tokenization, using case examples of forward-thinking companies that have had success using this technology to protect their data and comply with PCI standards."

The webinar will advise companies on how to best evaluate tokenization solutions, walking them step by step through the audit requirements as well as issues like vendor lock-in, performance, scale, management, and migrations. The differences between basic and modern tokenization and how both differ from encryption will also be explored.
