MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Feb 28, 2012) - ColoHouse LLC, the leading carrier-neutral, Miami data center and hosting facility, is pleased to announce that it has obtained a Service Organization Control Report 1 (SOC 1) or SSAE 16, formerly known as SAS70, Type 2 report. SSAE 16 is designed to provide ColoHouse's Miami data center and hosting facility clients with a level of assurance of corporate controls and will replace the existing SAS70 Type 2 audit report. Grant Thornton, one of the six global audit, tax and advisory organizations, conducted the ColoHouse SSAE 16 audit over a twelve-month period ending December 31, 2011.
SSAE 16 is an attestation standard issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants that reports on ColoHouse controls supporting the services provided to clients. Grant Thornton developed the internal control objectives based on industry best practices to support cutting-edge data center management and services.
The SSAE 16 audit report includes management's description of ColoHouse's systems and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls. The report, produced after a demanding independent examination of ColoHouse's internal controls and processes; including the environmental, physical security, and redundancy controls established to protect clients, demonstrates the reliability and operational excellence of ColoHouse's Miami data center and hosting facility.
Businesses that are compliance sensitive and may require SSAE 16 certification include but are not limited to publicly-traded enterprises, healthcare organizations and financial firms. ColoHouse's SSAE 16 report focuses on procedures performed by ColoHouse, which are expected to be relevant to clients' internal controls. The report is intended to ensure the auditing success and business continuity of ColoHouse clients and is for use by customers and their auditors.
"ColoHouse's Miami data center and hosting facility delivers indispensable data center solutions to clients, particularly to those who must meet and maintain enormously demanding regulatory compliance mandates," states Felipe Rodriguez, chief operating officer at ColoHouse. "ColoHouse will continue our dedication to ensuring a highly secure, reliable, and compliant colocation environment for our clients' mission-critical requirements."
