DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - Mar 5, 2012) - TravisWolff Independent Advisors and Accountants announced today that Jerri Hammer has been admitted to the partnership as an equity owner. Hammer, 48, serves as a tax partner in TravisWolff's high net worth individuals practice. In that capacity she works with successful clients providing tax efficient wealth accumulation and wealth transfer strategies for individuals and closely held businesses. She also specializes in tax recognition and reporting for not-for-profit entities.
Hammer joined TravisWolff in the fall of 2007 as senior tax manager. Prior to her tenure at TravisWolff she worked at a local Dallas accounting firm for 10 years. Before returning to graduate school to pursue an advanced degree in accounting, Hammer practiced estate and probate law as a licensed attorney for almost a decade in Lubbock, Austin and Dallas.

Hammer graduated from the University of Texas in 1983 with a B.A. in English and minors in Economics and Mathematics. She completed her J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law in 1986, graduating in the top one-third of her class. In 1997, she obtained her Masters in Accounting with a tax concentration from the University of Texas at Dallas, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Subsequently, she obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Texas, with a test score that placed her in the top 10 among those taking the exam that year in the state.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of CPAs, Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, Dallas Estate Planning Council (member, Board of Governors) and Dallas Bar Association. She is licensed to practice before the Northern District of Texas. She currently serves as a board member and Treasurer of the North Texas Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the Association for Independent Living.
A resident of Richardson, Texas, Hammer is married to David Pomberg, her husband of almost 20 years. They have two children, Laura, 11, and Nicky, 9.
