IDC Unveils New Revenue Generation Solutions for Broadcasters at NAB 2012

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 19, 2012) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC) announces the unveiling of several new solutions designed to boost revenue generation for the world's premiere broadcasters at NAB 2012, Las Vegas, April 16-19, 2012.

IDC is the technology partner of choice for the distribution of real-time and file-based content for professional data, audio, video, and digital cinema applications. At NAB 2012, IDC is bringing several revenue generating solutions to market that can greatly expand target audience reach for broadcasters, and provide advertisers with unparalleled targeted access to existing and new subscriber bases.

Increase Subscription Revenue

IDC will launch an advanced solution that allows Direct to Home (DTH) satellite operators to deliver their existing content to a largely untapped subscriber base, TV audiences within various types of residential and commercial clustered communities, including multi-dwelling units (MDUs), gated communities, and hotels. This integrated platform enables linear content to be distributed cost-effectively over Ethernet, and enables lucrative new services, including Video on Demand (VOD), to be offered to subscribers.

Increase Advertising Revenue

IDC will also launch an integrated local ad insertion platform that enables television broadcasters delivering content to dramatically increase advertising revenues by inserting regional or local commercials at the edge of the network. This sophisticated new platform provides unparalleled accuracy for connecting advertising content with the intended target audience.

"Over the past 25 years, IDC has pioneered several key broadcast technologies, including HD, DVB and 3D live events within core new markets such as digital cinema," stated Frederick Godard, IDC President and CEO. "Now, more than ever, we are focused on launching innovative, integrated platforms that assist our customers in generating significant new revenue streams from their businesses in both existing and evolving markets."

Protect Existing Revenue

Aimed at radio network operators looking to protect existing revenue streams, IDC will also unveil an expanded portfolio of proven STAR Pro Audio satellite receivers. The highly reliable cost-effective STAR audio receivers, which feature the latest open standard modulation and audio compression technologies, offer the ideal replacement platform for existing ABR networks that are nearing end of life, as well as offering state-of-the-art performance for new network builds.
