NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Mar 26, 2012) - Hearst Corporation today announced that Lincoln Millstein has been promoted to executive vice president, deputy group head of Hearst Newspapers. The announcement was made by Hearst Corporation CEO Frank A. Bennack, Jr., and Mark E. Aldam, president of Hearst Newspapers. Millstein previously held the position of senior vice president for digital media. He fills the vacancy created when Aldam was promoted to president of Hearst Newspapers in March 2011.
Commenting on the announcement, Bennack said: "Lincoln has made a tremendous contribution since joining Hearst, expanding our newspapers' portfolio of digital products and services. We congratulate him on his promotion."

Millstein has spearheaded multiple industry partnerships, such as the consortium of 700 newspapers in the partnership with Yahoo!, and the 1,000-paper partnership with Monster. He's also championed deals with Google, Zillow and other digital companies. Millstein is a board member of quadrantONE, the display ad exchange owned by Hearst, Tribune, Gannett and New York Times, and Find n Save, the recently created industry shopping platform.
Millstein, 62, joined Hearst in 2005 after five years as executive vice president of New York Times Digital, where he oversaw the websites of the Boston Globe and The New York Times. He helped found Boston.com in 1995 and ran it until 2000, when he was tapped as chief operating officer of New York Times Digital. He is a newsroom veteran who spent 14 years in a variety of editing positions at the Globe, including features editor, business editor and city editor. Prior to joining The Boston Globe in 1983, Millstein spent 10 years at The Hartford Courant both as a reporter and editor, including business editor from 1981 to 1983. During that time, he won several awards for his reporting on the aerospace and insurance industries.
Millstein is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. In 1981, he was a Professional Journalism Fellow at Stanford University.
