USC Military Social Work Grads Heading to VetAdvisor

Falls Church, VA, March 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a unique partnering between a small business and a school of social work, Three Wire Systems, LLC will recruit and hire graduates of the University of Southern California (USC) School of Social Work as coaches for its VetAdvisor® coaching services, Three Wire announced today.

With an ability to concentrate on Military Social Work, USC graduates are uniquely qualified to work with military veterans. "Working with USC and hiring their graduates is a true value-added differentiator for VetAdvisor®," says Jennifer Roseman-Farabaugh, Three Wire's Vice-President of VetAdvisor® Services. "Our coaching platform supports veterans throughout their journey by managing behavioral health, wellness, financial, and employment issues. USC graduates and interns will allow us to offer veteran-centric services."

During their course of study, USC Social Work graduate students will have the opportunity to intern with VetAdvisor®, performing research and providing direct services to veterans and their families facing the challenges of reintegration to civilian life. Three Wire is currently conducting a site search and will open a West Coast office in Los Angeles in order to house the first class of interns, who will join VetAdvisor® in the fall, 2012 semester. USC students will have the opportunity to turn their internship experience into a career as a VetAdvisor® coach. By providing an employment pipeline for alumni of this prestigious program, VetAdvisor® has positioned itself as a premier provider of proactive preventative care for military veterans.

USC additionally offers a comprehensive, evidence-based continuing education curriculum designed to train behavioral healthcare professionals for working with service members and their families. Three Wire's workforce is currently 70% veteran. As part of its affiliation with USC, all non-veteran VetAdvisor® coaches will be asked to complete this program, leading to a workforce fully-certified in veteran social work issues.

"I am thrilled that Three Wire is dedicated to providing continuing education to all those who support our veterans," states Anthony Hassan, Director of USC's Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families.
