UNION, NJ--(Marketwire - Mar 28, 2012) - Del-Sano Contracting Corporation, a general contracting, design/build and construction management services firm, today announced the groundbreaking for the Melvin & Margaret Myers Senior Residence facility located on Esterbrook Avenue in Rahway, N.J. The new facility is a HUD 202 project of Domus Housing Corp. and will be a contemporary four story senior residence that will offer affordable and brand new apartment living open to local qualified individuals.
Melvin & Margaret Myers Senior Residence will include 50 single bedroom units and one two bedroom manager's apartment. The 44,456 square foot facility is expected to cost $8.9 million and is projected to be completed in April 2013. The facility will include green building features, including energy efficient fiberglass windows, Energy Star-rated appliances and lighting, high efficiency heating and cooling equipment, as well as low flow water fixtures. The new building will be built adjacent to the Divine Mercy Parish (former location of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church), secondary school and gymnasium.
"The new senior living apartments will afford the residence a short walk to the Divine Mercy Parish and the Rahway Arts District renaissance neighborhood," explained Angelo Del Russo, CEO of Del-Sano. Brill & Associates LLC of Doylestown, Pa. is the mechanical engineer; Jefferis Engineering Associates of Runnemede, N.J. is the civil engineer; and Harrison-Hamnett, P.C. of Pennington, N.J. is the structural engineer.
