WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Apr 2, 2012) - FOSE (booth #504) -- ScienceLogic™, Inc. CEO David Link will participate in a FOSE 2012 panel discussion on April 4 about government cloud computing and the factors to consider when selecting a service provider. The panel is part of the Cloud & Virtualization Conference taking place at FOSE, which will be held April 3-5. ScienceLogic will exhibit its IT operations and cloud management technology in booth #504.
Session Title: Cloud First: Key Government Considerations for Selecting the Right Service Provider
Session Description: The government is moving forward full force with its Cloud First strategy. The release of an aggressive cloud adoption roadmap in November 2011 signaled the move to a more efficient, cost effective computing environment. However, agencies looking to shift serious data center applications to the cloud have much to consider, including which provider to trust. To accelerate use of cloud applications beyond email, GSA, DISA, and NASA have created cloud application stores (e.g., apps.gov), and FedRAMP offers security assurances on cloud applications. Alternatively, agencies can buy directly from now more than 1,000 cloud service providers that cover the full range of NIST definitions.
This panel will discuss pricing, scale, data management, performance and most importantly security and the need for trust as parameters that agencies should consider in their sourcing decisions. Speakers will stress the need for visibility into and control over the cloud environment; the appropriateness of that cloud environment for your business services; associated SLAs; and the ability to test the environment for acceptable monitoring/management as must-address items before signing on the dotted line.
Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C.
When: Wednesday, April 4, 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT
