Old Bridge Chiropractor Educates RunAPalooza Participants About LiteCure

OLD BRIDGE, N.J., April 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Old Bridge chiropractors Dr. Peter Bufano and Dr. Arlene Kazio of Old Bridge Spine and Wellness Center are sponsoring a booth at RunAPalooza on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The booth will be open in Asbury Park Convention Hall from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Chiropractor Dr. Bufano says that he and others from the wellness center will be available to talk with runners, walkers and spectators of the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon and Asbury Park Half Marathon. They will provide information about the latest developments in chiropractic care and physical therapy, particularly the clinic's new LiteCure class IV therapeutic laser.

According to Dr. Bufano, their Old Bridge physical therapy office treats hundreds of athletes annually, many of whom are seeking natural solutions to painful injuries. "At RunAPalooza we will be talking with people who are as passionate about natural health and fitness as we are. As a chiropractor, my goal is to help athletes, professional or amateur, recover quickly and naturally after an injury so they have as little downtime as possible. We are particularly eager to let runners know about our new LiteCure class IV therapeutic laser, which we use to help accelerate recovery times and provide natural pain relief."

According to Dr. Bufano, their wellness center recently acquired the LiteCure laser therapy machine because of its reputation as an effective physical therapy treatment option. Physical therapists aim a therapeutic laser beam deep into injured tissues. Dr. Bufano cites studies demonstrating that laser light triggers photoreceptors in injured tissues to produce Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP energizes injured cells to start their own internal healing processes. The light also increases circulation, reduces inflammation and relieves pain. Old Bridge Spine and Wellness Center uses it to help patients recovering from sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, knee pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and shoulder pain.

In addition to discussing their new LiteCure therapeutic laser, Dr. Kazio says that she and other members of their team will be available at their booth all day to discuss various aspects of chiropractic care. She says that many runners are often interested in drug-free, non-surgical solutions to pain and injuries. Dr. Kazio says spinal and musculoskeletal realignment through chiropractic adjusting techniques has helped many of their patients find relief without the side effects of drug therapies. Physical and massage therapists also help patients regain strength, flexibility and range of motion through special exercises, stretches and body work.

Dr. Bufano and Dr. Kazio said they are excited to meet the athletes at RunAPalooza. "We love attending RunAPalooza because we can discuss injuries and treatments with runners directly. We get to know great people and discuss how we can help them with spinal adjustments, massage therapy, LiteCure, and other techniques. It's fun for all of us."
