VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - Cassius Ventures Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CZ) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Eddy Canova as Director of Exploration as well as member of the Board of Directors of the Company.
Mr. Canova has a BSc. in Geology from McGill University, has over 25 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry in Canada, Venezuela, Mexico, and West Africa and 4 years of experience in mineral production in Venezuela. His work has been focused in gold mineral exploration, base and precious metals, uranium as well as iron ore.
Mr. Canova has been exposed to a variety of geological environments and geological models working on some major projects such as Gold Reserve's Brisas' project, an 8 million oz. Au project, the Bolivar Tomi Gold Mine project as a mine manager and as Founder, Vice President of Exploration and Director, responsible for the acquisition and exploration of Alexandria Minerals' gold properties from 2002 to 2010.
Mr. Canova had previously worked in a consulting role for the Company prior to the appointment as Director of Exploration and Director of the Company.
The Company announces the granting of 250,000 stock options to Mr. Canova at an exercise price of $0.165 per share, for a maximum period of five years, subject to regulatory approval.
Dr. Lawrence Dick has stepped down as a director of the Company, but will remain on as a technical advisor to the Company going forward.
