FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwire - May 2, 2012) - Historic, audiophile and new American classical music recordings are added to the Naxos of America family of distributed labels as AIX Records, BCMF Records and Acanta join the roster.
Los Angeles-based AIX Records (http://aixrecords.com/), founded by producer/engineer Dr. Mark Waldrep in 2000, specializes in producing new HD-Audio, stereo & multichannel recorded music in a wide variety of genres including classical, jazz, instrumental & blues. Using a unique hybrid recording approach, which combines a large acoustically rich chamber music auditorium, purist production techniques, avoidance of any signal processing & multiple stereo pairs of microphones, AIX produces incredibly natural sounding music recordings. The majority of their Blu-ray & DVD releases contain multiple audio mixes plus full video performances of the recording sessions, artist interviews, biographical information, photos, discographies, and behind-the-scenes videos.
BCMF Records was founded in 2012 by the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival (http://www.bcmf.org/media/recordings/), which brings together world-class artists in innovative programs showcasing chamber music masterworks in addition to new and non-traditional repertoire in an intimate summer setting. A twelve-concert series taking place each August, the Festival makes its home in Bridgehampton on the East End of New York's Long Island, where artists and audiences annually rediscover what Founder and Artistic Director Marya Martin calls "the electricity of good friends making music together." BCMF Records reflects the festival's continuing commitment to the promotion and documentation of seminal chamber works, including those it has premiered or commissioned.
The Acanta label (http://www.membran.net/music-beyond-entertainment/) was born from the magnetic tape giant BASF. In the 1970s, BASF launched a label in Germany and with millions in investments, produced hundreds of recordings in all musical styles. The catalog consists of more than 250,000 minutes of music and Membran Music Alliance, the parent company of the Acanta label, is still in the process of digitizing and archiving the masters since acquiring the company/label in 2009. In the spring of 2012, Membran has begun releasing the recordings from this historic label, to make them available once again for classical music lovers around the world.
