SANTA YNEZ, Calif., June 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association announces that tickets for the popular "Celebration of Harvest" festival on October 13, 2012 are now on sale. In addition to the festival itself, the accompanying weekend long celebration pays tribute to, as well as exhibits, the unparalleled variety of agricultural products grown, raised and harvested in Santa Barbara County. "Not only is the county a world renowned wine growing region but with the abundance of local produce, livestock and seafood available, Santa Barbara County has become a culinary Mecca for those seeking exceptional food and wine artisans," affirms Association Executive Director Jim Fiolek. "Festival attendees can experience a full range of edibles paired with the latest releases of wine- all grown or raised right here in our county."
The stunning grounds of the Rancho Sisquoc Winery will provide the perfect setting for an afternoon of exploring the wines produced by the 100+ members of the Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association as well as appetizers provided by dozens of restaurants, caterers and food purveyors. Live music provided by soulful songstress Donna Greene and The Roadhouse Daddies and folk artist Jen n' General will further enhance the celebratory atmosphere. Another festival highlight will be a silent auction overflowing with unique large format bottles as well as vertical and library wine collections. Proceeds from the auction will benefit People Helping People, an organization that provides support to local families in need.
To round out the weekend's festivities, plans are in the works for dinners, special tastings, vineyard walks and open houses hosted at the many tasting rooms and restaurants throughout Santa Barbara County. Both Celebration of Harvest festival tickets, the "Vintners' Visa", a 4-day passport to 12 participating wineries, are available for sale at www.sbcountywines.com.
