East El Paso Veterinarian Named President of Texas Veterinary Medical Association

EL PASO, Texas, June 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- East El Paso veterinarian Dr. Orlando Garza is a 1982 graduate of Texas A&M University and currently serving as president of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA). The TVMA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support veterinarians and advance the science of veterinary care in Texas. Originally founded in 1903, today the TVMA is one of the largest veterinary associations in the United States with over 3,500 licensed members. Since 1986, Dr. Garza's practice, East El Paso Animal Hospital, has provided grooming, boarding, and wellness exams, along with comprehensive pet dental, surgical, and puppy and kitten care.

In February 2012, the TVMA named East El Paso veterinarian Dr. Garza as president of its executive committee. Members of the executive committee, including Dr. Garza, donate their time as part of a dedicated effort to advance the cause of veterinary medicine, from the state-level and into their personal communities.

"I am honored to serve as the TVMA's president and do everything I can to advance the practice of veterinary medicine in the great state of Texas," said Dr. Garza. "From puppy and kitten care to technological advancements in pet laser surgery, I want to keep Texas veterinarians, especially those in my East El Paso practice, on the cutting-edge of veterinary care so we can continue to fully invest ourselves in your pets."

As president of the TVMA, Dr. Garza advocates on behalf of Texas veterinarians. According to Dr. Garza, the TVMA is well-respected due to its passionate commitment to educational programs, informative publications, and legislative efforts backed by veterinarians.

"The TVMA was founded on the principles of duty, devotion, and dedication, recognizing veterinarians for their commitment to excellence for the sake of furthering veterinary medicine. A large part of this ambition must be accomplished through client communication," said Dr. Garza.

With client-veterinarian happiness being at the top of Dr.Garza's priorities, he touts TVMA's initiative in easing any stress in the relationship. They make establishing connections and resolving conflicts between the public and veterinarians feasible. If pet owners have a concern with care their pet received, they may file a complaint with the TVMA.

"Our aim is to connect pet owners with highly qualified and experienced veterinarians," said Dr. Garza. "This relationship is especially important to me. With my animal hospital providing wide-ranging wellness services for the Van Horn, Fort Hancock, Dell City, Sierra Blanca, Clint, and Fabens communities, we make sure that even though our net is cast wide, all of our clients at East El Paso Animal Hospital receive first-rate care."
