EL PASO, Texas, June 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- East El Paso veterinarian Dr. Orlando Garza is a 1982 graduate of Texas A&M University and currently serving as president of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA). The TVMA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support veterinarians and advance the science of veterinary care in Texas. Originally founded in 1903, today the TVMA is one of the largest veterinary associations in the United States with over 3,500 licensed members. Since 1986, Dr. Garza's practice, East El Paso Animal Hospital, has provided grooming, boarding, and wellness exams, along with comprehensive pet dental, surgical, and puppy and kitten care.
In February 2012, the TVMA named East El Paso veterinarian Dr. Garza as president of its executive committee. Members of the executive committee, including Dr. Garza, donate their time as part of a dedicated effort to advance the cause of veterinary medicine, from the state-level and into their personal communities.

As president of the TVMA, Dr. Garza advocates on behalf of Texas veterinarians. According to Dr. Garza, the TVMA is well-respected due to its passionate commitment to educational programs, informative publications, and legislative efforts backed by veterinarians.
"The TVMA was founded on the principles of duty, devotion, and dedication, recognizing veterinarians for their commitment to excellence for the sake of furthering veterinary medicine. A large part of this ambition must be accomplished through client communication," said Dr. Garza.
With client-veterinarian happiness being at the top of Dr.Garza's priorities, he touts TVMA's initiative in easing any stress in the relationship. They make establishing connections and resolving conflicts between the public and veterinarians feasible. If pet owners have a concern with care their pet received, they may file a complaint with the TVMA.
