New York, June 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Complete Discovery Source (CDS Legal), a leading provider of eDiscovery services headquartered in New York, announced today that it has successfully completed an extensive examination, a SSAE 16 (Service Organization Control (SOC)) 1 Type II audit, conducted by an independent accounting firm. The audit examines the effectiveness of internal controls supporting CDS Legal's e-discovery services. SSAE 16 is the new auditing standard developed in 2011 by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to replace SAS 70.
The testing covers a variety of operational and security areas including computer operations, information security, application change control, data communications, chain of custody, evidentiary data integrity, and data destruction.
"Completing this annual examination demonstrates that we are committed to having the most secure e-discovery environment in the industry," said Garrett Bendel, Chief Operating Officer, "Legal teams choose CDS Legal because we take rigorous measures to deliver the best product ... with the technologies we use, the processes we follow, and the measures we take handling and protecting clients' data."
An SSAE 16 Type II Report is officially a "report on
management's description of a service organization's system and the
suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls"
and includes a service auditor's assurance report.
