DALLAS, July 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Heart Association and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a part of Wolters Kluwer Health, are pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Daugherty, Ph.D., D.Sc., F.A.H.A. as editor-in-chief of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology: Journal of the American Heart Association (ATVB), a monthly journal devoted to the biology, prevention and impact of vascular diseases.
Daugherty is Senior Associate Dean of Research in the College of Medicine, Director of the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center and Gill Foundation Chair in Preventive Cardiology at University of Kentucky, Lexington.
The July 2012 issue of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology is the first issue produced by the new editorial team. Daugherty wrote in an introductory editorial, "We are excited to continue to assist in the ascent of a journal that has provided numerous scientific contributions to the areas of science included in its name."
Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology publishes essential peer-reviewed research on vascular biology, atherosclerosis and lipoproteins, and thrombosis.
