IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 23, 2012) - OleumTech Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial wireless automation systems, today announced its release of the Wireless Thermocouple Transmitter, which is part of the WIO® Wireless System. The WIO Thermocouple Transmitter is designed to support various third-party Type K Thermocouple sensors and is ideal for wirelessly monitoring flare, kiln, gas turbine, and other industrial temperature monitoring applications. The Thermocouple Transmitter provides precise temperature measurement of ±0.1% of reading per °C for ambient temperature effect. In addition, it provides unprecedented installation flexibility with a new junction box design where the NPT opening can be mounted facing any direction (360°). The junction box also provides easy wiring access.
The Thermocouple Transmitter has an intrinsically safe design and is safe for industrial use at -40 °F to 158 °F (-40 °C to 70 °C) in Class I, Div 1, Groups A, B, C, and D installations. It is available in both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz versions with a range of up to 7500 ft (actual range may vary depending on location and RF setup). The device is self-contained and battery-operated (up to 10-year life) making it ideal for use where there is no access to powerline. Users can select as little as 1 second for transmit interval. This Transmitter can be configured using the user-friendly BreeZ® v4.0 Software and wirelessly transmits data to a WIO Wireless Gateway that has Modbus connectivity to SCADA systems.
"We are very pleased to introduce the Thermocouple Transmitter. As with any of our WIO devices, it provides unmatched wireless performance and battery life while users have the flexibility of using any third-party thermocouple sensor of their choice," said Vrej Isa, COO at OleumTech.
