QuinStreet Announces New Comparison Marketplace for Auto Insurance Buyers

FOSTER CITY, Calif., July 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- QuinStreet, Inc. (Nasdaq:QNST), a leader in vertical marketing and media online, announces the launch of leading-edge technology for delivering online auto insurance quotes and leads.

QuinStreet's new Insurance Comparison Marketplace was designed specifically to address consumer needs. The Marketplace has been implemented on QuinStreet's flagship insurance sites, CarInsurance.com, Insurance.com and Insure.com.

The Insurance Comparison Marketplace simplifies the auto insurance shopping experience by offering consumers three pathways to purchase:

  • Buy online: Complete an online form in less than eight minutes, and see real quotes instantly from multiple carriers before purchasing online

  • Buy direct: Opt to go directly to major carriers' websites and receive free, no-obligation quotes, then purchase from the carrier.

  • Shop by phone: Speak on the phone with a licensed agent, who will help compare quotes and answer questions about coverage, then purchase from the agent.

"We're seeing our long-term vision come to fruition," said Doug Valenti, CEO of QuinStreet. "We have made strategic website acquisitions in the insurance space over the last few years, and now these websites host not only top content but also the industry's leading technology to connect consumers to the insurance shopping experiences they want."

An extensive "Insurance Buyer Insight Study," previously conducted by QuinStreet, informed the development of the new online shopping system. The survey examined consumer shopping preferences, and the Insurance Comparison Marketplace addresses each of the top five auto insurance shopping concerns as ranked by consumers:

  1. Getting the lowest possible price: The Marketplace provides real rates, not estimates, delivered immediately and directly from a broad range of carriers.

  2. Finding trustworthy information: QuinStreet's expert writers and editors provide helpful articles, Q&As and interactive tools to help consumers research insurance companies and coverage and make buying decisions.

  3. Obtaining appropriate coverage: The Marketplace offers a broad range of coverage options and the ability to get answers from licensed agents.

  4. Customizing an insurance package: Consumers can design a coverage package to fit their needs.

  5. Accessing great customer service: Shoppers can speak with an experienced customer service agent from QuinStreet's licensed agency if they are unsure about any aspect of their coverage choices, or they can access a carrier's call center for help.

"Our Insurance Comparison Marketplace adjusts to the buyers' comfort level," said Valenti. "Whether they want to complete a transaction online and never talk to an agent, or get personalized help from a professional, we provide a pathway for their choice. We are offering an industry-first customer experience."

The Marketplace is currently available in 36 states, with further rollout to come.

QuinStreet commissioned Toluna to conduct its "Insurance Buyer Insight Study" from December 22-28, 2010. Results are based on responses from 878 participants.
