SAN DIEGO, July 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VelaTel Global Communications (OTCQB:VELA), a leader in deploying and operating wireless broadband and telecommunication networks worldwide, announced today that its subsidiary Zapna ApS, a Denmark corporation and provider of mobile applications and Smart SIM cards to reduce mobile long distance and roaming charges, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Interfone International.
The Agreement identifies Denmark, Germany and Holland as the initial territories in which the parties will cooperate. Interfone will focus on selling and providing services to business customers and Zapna will focus on consumer customers.
Zapna and Interfone have also agreed to cooperate on other products and services. Zapna will deliver a mobile interconnect solution to Interfone for Interfone's market launch in Germany that will provide very competitive pricing for Interfone's customers.
The revenue sharing model excludes sales of Zapna's Smart SIM cards, which Interfone will buy from Zapna and launch under its own brand, pricing and market strategy to its customers. Interfone has placed an initial purchase order from Zapna for 15,000 Smart SIM card units that will ship out in August 2012. Each party will refer potential customers within the other's market segment, and the parties will share revenue with each other on referred customers.
