CLEARWATER, Fla., Aug. 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced that it has appointed William ("Bill") Brooks to vice president of Sales, Technical Services. In this role, Brooks will lead Tech Data's TechEDG government services team and TechMED healthcare services team, as well as the Company's TDEducation reseller training and certification services, TDOnCall technical services suite and pre-sales technical support team. He is also responsible for Tech Data's Technology Solutions Center, a 6,000-square-foot, hands-on, proof-of-concept lab that enables resellers to familiarize themselves with the latest IT solutions.

Brooks joins Tech Data after more than 25 years at Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM), most recently as senior director, Technical Support and Customer Service. He was responsible for Ingram's North American Customer Service organization and Technical Support team, leading his teams to success by identifying and driving operational efficiencies and delivering best-in-class service. Previously at Ingram, Brooks developed and led the implementation of fee-based programs for both vendors and resellers in Technical Services. He holds a B.A. from The State University of New York at Fredonia and an M.B.A. from Canisius College.
