CHICAGO, Aug. 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- America's Domestic Diva and Chicago's fittest fashionista Jane Monzures hosts her second annual Live. Love. Life. charity event on August 18, 2012 at the historic Chicago Cultural Center. L3, a 501C3 non-profit, brings together Chicago's top trendsetters to generate awareness and support for a variety of issues that affect Chicago area families through community engagement. With no dedicated organization focused on degenerative brain diseases, L3 2012 steps up to fill this gap by raising funds for research.
The evening's theme "Round 2: Where Grit Meets Glam" features a night of fashion and philanthropy where true American style hits the runway while boxers meet in the ultimate showdown in an actual boxing ring - all to raise funds for degenerative brain disease research. Reminding us to get back up no matter how many times we are knocked down, L3 2012 will inspire and excite Chicago's most fashion-forward crowd with high-energy, knockout performances.
On the heels of last year's success, L3 2012 aims to make an even bigger impact by funding the research of Dr. Jane Wu, MD, PhD, Charles Louis Mix Professor of Neurology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. This summer's event helps fill a necessary medical void by raising funds for the research of degenerative brain diseases like Corticobasal syndrome, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
Dedicated to creating an impact across Chicago, L3's inaugural event put the major market television and radio personality's charity on the map. Monzures' first event stayed true to her fashion enthusiast and shoe fanatic lifestyle by raising funds for Share Your Soles, a non-profit foundation that holds shoe drives and special events to put shoes on the soles of children and adults in the most impoverished areas of the world.
L3′s board of directors is filled with a variety of Chicago and national industry leaders. In addition to Jane Monzures, who has been an active media personality on WGN-TV, CLTV, WCIU-TV, and WLUP-FM, the board of directors also consists of Chicago based communication strategist, Chris Foltz of Christopher Foltz & Company; Fox Chicago's Good Day Chicago co-anchor, Anna Davlantes; Dominic Zaccagini, aka Zakk Tyler on Fox Sports Radio; leading Chicago radio and television personality Pete McMurray; entrepreneur Dean Solver; and accountant Scott Wheaton.
"The response L3 has received from the Chicago community is truly incredible. I am so humbled to be behind a charity that has more and more sponsors jumping on board every day," commented Jane Monzures. "This year's event is going to make a huge impact, and I am very thankful to our sponsors for allowing us to do so."
L3 2012 has an already impressive list of sponsors including Morrow Family Foundation, Guaranteed Rate, United Scrap Metal, SmileActives, Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Zaibak Center for Dentistry, The Chicago Sun Times, Michigan Avenue Magazine, 97.9 The Loop, in addition to a number of show and auction sponsors. While the deadline is quickly approaching, sponsorship slots are still available for this year's L3 event.
