MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwire - Aug 7, 2012) - Newforma®, a project information management (PIM) software company improving building and infrastructure project delivery, today announced the addition of a new web + mobile development center in Portland, Maine. The development team is led by Michael DeSouza, Justin Velgos and Mark Woollard, the former co-founders of Tap Tapas, a software application studio that developed mobile solutions for corporate clients such as Toyota. The team is tasked with expanding Newforma's web and mobile products to meet the demands of more and more AEC professionals and owners who are managing project information away from the office using tablets and smartphones. These applications will also be designed for use by external project team members who are part of the Newforma Project Network.

DeSouza, Velgos and Woollard co-founded Tap Tapas in 2008 to address the growing demand for mobile app development just as the market was beginning to take off. Tap Tapas iPhone apps have been downloaded more than 250,000 times and have been featured three times at the Apple iTunes App Store, a privilege accorded to only one-tenth of one percent of all iPhone apps.
