HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Aug 9, 2012) - Plastic surgeons offer a variety of procedures designed to smooth out wrinkles and tighten facial skin, yet numerous people are hesitant to undergo treatment because many of the surgeries are invasive. Houston dermatologist Dr. Paul Friedman and his associate Dr. Jennifer Peterson now offer a non-surgical, non-invasive facial rejuvenation treatment known as Ultherapy™. They say the procedure is a great option for patients interested in skin tightening, as it stimulates collagen growth and ultimately improves elasticity by lifting and volumizing the skin. Dr. Friedman adds that offering Ultherapy™ allows the practice to further encompass patients' aesthetic desires and needs while continuing to promote the highest level of care available.
The Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center offers a comprehensive range of treatments and procedures spanning from CoolSculpting® and BOTOX® Cosmetic, to LAVIV™ and Ultherapy™. Dr. Friedman and his experienced staff are dedicated to the enhancement of patient care through utilization of the newest, most advanced dermatological technology. In an effort to remain a leader in the skin care industry, Dr. Friedman says he consistently strives to stay up-to-date on the latest industry techniques and technological developments, adding that he is proud his practice is able to offer state-of-the-art treatments like Ultherapy™.
Ultherapy™ is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes ultrasonic waves to help facial skin by growing more collagen which results in skin-lifting, skin-tightening, and improved elasticity. The procedure is often performed to help rejuvenate areas with minimal sagging or wrinkling such as the neck and around the eyes. Although some minimally-invasive treatments, like the fraxel laser, can be very effective for facial rejuvenation, Ultherapy™ does not utilize laser technology. As a result, patients are usually able to return to their daily routines immediately after the procedure. Dr. Friedman says recovery time and results may vary among individuals, adding that patients should always talk to their doctors about what to expect post-treatment.
Dr. Peterson says patients can usually expect to see initial results two to three months after the procedure, while full results can be seen at six months. She urges her patients to remain patient with the process and reminds them that the collagen growth under the skin will often cause continuing improvement in the results over time. Dr. Peterson says due to the procedure's gentle nature, many people find the results to look more natural than other facial rejuvenation treatments. Dr. Friedman adds that whether his patients are interested in Ultherapy™, or any other procedures, they should always consult with a board-certified dermatologist to ensure the safest and most advanced techniques are being used.
