IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) - Orange County Business Council (OCBC), the leading voice of business in Orange County, has endorsed three candidates for Costa Mesa City Council: Council incumbents Gary Monahan and Steve Mensinger, and newcomer Colin McCarthy.

McCarthy currently serves as the Chairman of the Costa Mesa Planning Commission and the Founder and President of the Costa Mesa Taxpayers Association. During his time on the Costa Mesa Planning Commission he was integral in the rehabilitation of Harbor Boulevard and the revitalization of Triangle Square.
Gary Monahan was first elected to the Costa Mesa City Council in 1994 and has served the City as Mayor three times. He is a member of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Costa Mesa Tourism and Promotions Council Board. As a local business owner, he is invested in the city and provides the Council with a unique perspective on the impact of city policies that affect the business community.
Steve Mensinger was appointed to the Costa Mesa City Council in 2011 and currently serves as the Council Liaison to the Redevelopment and Residential Rehabilitation (3R) Committee and the Newport Mesa School Board providing benefit to the City with his 26 years' experience in the real estate industry. Mensinger has served as a Costa Mesa Planning Commissioner, as well as the Planning Commission Liaison to the Newport Mesa School Board. He is a demonstrated community leader, and remains committed to participating in many community organizations and non-profit's including the South Coast Metro Alliance, Girls Inc., Boy Scouts of America, the Orange County Sheriff's Department, and Costa Mesa United.
