Omron Network Products Introduces New High-Speed, High-Performance Bi-Directional Optical Module

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2012) - Omron Network Products, LLC (ONP), the leading manufacturer of high-performance optical modules for VoF (Video over Fiber) and high-speed-data transmission, announced today the availability of a new bi-directional optical module capable of transmitting 14Gb/s downstream and 622Mb upstream, all over a single multimode fiber. Transmission distances between 300 meters and 1 kilometer are possible using the new device. The new P1xX6B-SX51x-02B, also called the 02B Data Module, is now available.

The new data module is designed for easy use and quick implementation into various fiber extension products. The data module includes a pre-programmed laser driver, an integrated SC clip, and a durable metal housing with EMI shielding, all of which support the module's high-performance capabilities.
