API integration between the enCloud service and VMware vCloud Suite 5.1 provides VMware service providers and enterprise customers with SaaS-delivered access to a start-to-finish, automated solution for onboarding physical, virtual and cloud servers into their vCloud stacks. The enCloud service is an easy to access SaaS based, multi-tenant solution supporting unlimited concurrent connections. By simply providing their vCloud URL and credentials, service providers and enterprise customers can connect into the enCloud service API and automate the onboarding of physical, virtual and cloud servers into their vCloud instance without ever taking them out of production during the process.

The enCloud service provides all the necessary processes to automate and complete the migration process from start-to-finish.

• Set-up gathers source server characteristics and access rights.
• Collection takes a snapshot of the source server.
• Conversion enables the source image to operate on VMware vSphere®.
• Deployment moves the collected source server image into the target vCloud stack.
• Synchronization completes the migration process, collecting any residual transaction data occurring post the collection process from the source server (still in production) and migrates it to the deployed instance in the target vCloud stack.
