Grocery Deal Site Aisle50 Enters Oklahoma Market With Homeland Stores Partnership

Homeland Becomes Third Partner Chain in U.S., Following Lowes Foods and Shop 'n Save, Bringing Service to 20 Million Consumers in Nine States

OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aisle50, the innovative online technology platform that delivers deep grocery discounts on major and local brands to consumers, has reached an agreement with the Oklahoma City-based Homeland Stores grocery chain to offer Aisle50's exclusive deals to customers as Homeland launches its new One Card.

With agreements already in place with North Carolina-based Lowes Foods and Pennsylvania-based Shop 'n Save, the new agreement provides Aisle50's technology platform and significant product discounts to more than 20 million potential consumers through 226 stores.

"We're excited about the rollout of our new One Card, and with it, introducing Aisle50 deals to our shoppers," said Phil Payment, vice president of marketing and merchandising at Homeland. "Our goal is to bring the best grocery deals and available technology to our consumers and Aisle50 fits into that mission well."

Based in Oklahoma City, Homeland Stores operates 76 stores across Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas serving an area of nearly 4 million people.

"Our job is to get new people to buy our CPG clients' products and, just as important, to drive people into our retail partners' stores, and that's what we've been able to do thus far for our partners at Lowes Foods and Shop 'n Save," said Christopher Steiner, co-founder of Aisle50. "And as our consumer following grows every day; we're excited to partner with Homeland which is clearly demonstrating progressive leadership in the grocery space."

Aisle50 was founded by Steiner and Riley Scott with the goal of bringing the group-buying paradigm to the world of consumer packaged goods, a $2 trillion business in the United States. With capital raised from Silicon Valley's Y Combinator, August Capital, New World Ventures and others, Steiner and Scott have built Aisle50 into a marketing lever that, for CPGs, drives incremental volume and repeat buying while being the only marketing platform in the space that's pay-for-performance. For retailers, Aisle50 drives thousands of new trips, 24% bigger basket sizes with deals that are 100% funded by CPGs.

Lowes Foods is based in Winston-Salem, NC and has 109 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.  Lowes Foods offers customers its "Fresh Rewards" loyalty program. Many Lowes Foods stores also offer Lowes Foods to Go, where shoppers can order groceries online before heading to the store to pick them up.

Established in 1968 and based in Pittsburgh, Shop 'n Save has more than 70 supermarket locations within Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, West Virginia and New York. Shop'n Save is well known for its innovative marketing that includes a loyalty card program that enables customers to earn discounts on fuel at participating Sunoco and Shop 'n Save Express fuel stations, a mobile program that allows customers to receive alerts, offers, and promotions on their mobile phone, and an online cookbook of regional recipes.
