TYNGSBORO, Mass., Sept. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Starting today (September 4, 2012) AccuBoost is offering a complete system that includes the required High Dose Rate (HDR) afterloader (appropriately referred to as an AccuLoader). The super turnkey AccuBoost system is primarily targeted for radiation oncology facilities that would like to provide the AccuBoost procedure but lack the prerequisite HDR unit. Consistent with AccuBoost's philosophy to offer affordable, user-friendly terms, the system is provided at no upfront cost to the customer. The acquisition of the AccuLoader is financed via a flat monthly fee. Six (6) Ir-192 source replacements are part of the package for the first year of the contract. The more frequent source changes, guarantee that the Ir-192 source activity is maintained at high levels to reduce the procedure time.
"In our interactions with potential customers we have discovered that many radiation oncology facilities are interested to offer the AccuBoost procedure but can not justify the economics of acquiring a full-service HDR system," stated Piran Sioshansi, Ph.D., President and CEO for AccuBoost. "The basic, cost-effective AccuLoader HDR is provided for the benefit of this group. The one-stop acquisition of the entire system avoids the need for a middleman and unnecessary paperwork. AccuLoader enables these sites to readily initiate the AccuBoost procedure with no capital outlay and with major cost savings," he added.
