CARY, N.C., Sept. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Autonomic Resources, a cloud provider serving the U.S. federal government, announced they have been awarded a government-wide Email as a Service (EaaS) contract for cloud computing by the General Services Administration (GSA). This is Autonomic's second major Government-wide Cloud Services award; the first being the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) award which they received their Authority to Operate (ATO) for in December 2011. GSA contracts give agencies the ability to obtain various approved cloud-based information technology offerings.
Under this EaaS Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), Autonomic will be offering Microsoft-based email and collaboration solutions along with Autonomy-based records management solutions. The records management solution from Autonomy can be procured de-coupled from email, allowing for archiving of Office365 and Google-based email. By utilizing Microsoft Exchange, Autonomic will help eliminate conversion costs for agencies seeking to move email the cloud. Autonomic already has in place their license mobility agreements in place with Microsoft to further reduce agency costs associated with adoption of cloud based email and allows agencies to protect their investments they have in existing EULA in place with Microsoft.
The EaaS contract provides value to government customers by supplying simplified cloud service offerings including email as a service, office automation, electronic records management, migration services and integration services, which can be acquired and utilized on-demand.
Autonomics' Cloud-Platform (ARC-P) provides U.S. government customers with platforms consisting of Government Community and Private Email solutions. Autonomic does not service any non US Government entities with cloud services and only utilizes highly cleared US citizens for cloud operations.
Autonomic is one of only a few vendors to have met the technical requirements necessary to be awarded two GSA contracts for cloud computing. Both BPA's demonstrate that Autonomic has met pre-qualified technical and pricing requirements, making the procurement process fast, flexible, and cost-effective for US government agencies. Further, Autonomic is already in FEDRAMP processing, which will ensure their ability to rapidly enable their email platform offerings for government use.
