Health Fair 11's Flu Fighter Clinics Begin Sept. 20

Flu Vaccinations Offered at All Minnesota Lunds & Byerly's Stores

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Sep 14, 2012) - Flu season is returning to the Northern Hemisphere. It won't be long before the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) start issuing weekly influenza bulletins.

According to MDH, 552 Minnesotans were hospitalized last flu season with laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza. Thirty-three flu deaths were recorded in Minnesota. The CDC says on average, 13% of Americans will "catch" the flu this year. Yet, influenza is one of the easiest illnesses to prevent. Prevention starts with getting an annual flu vaccination.
