DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2012) - TRI Pointe Homes continues its expansion throughout the western states, appointing industry veteran Matt Osborn to spearhead its entry into the Colorado housing market as president of its newly established Colorado division.
"With his extensive local background, Matt is the ideal candidate to enable us to take advantage of the extremely favorable conditions in the Colorado market," stated Doug Bauer, CEO of TRI Pointe Homes. "We are always evaluating expansion opportunities, and Colorado presents one of the most promising. Job growth continues to be very positive, the state has a well-educated workforce, the home price index for Denver continues to rise, and it is just a great place to live."
TRI Pointe Homes' debut in Colorado will be opportunistic in nature, canvassing all seven counties that comprise the bulk of the home building activity in the Denver Metro area. The company's initial focus will be in Douglas County, which leads the region in new home sales.
With more than 20 years of experience in his family's company, Village Homes, Osborn has a keen understanding of all aspects of the home-building industry, from land acquisition and entitlements to land development and the sales and construction process. At Village, he served most recently as president, overseeing all operations, including the successful navigation of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process initiated by the company in late 2008. During his career with Village Homes, Osborn held numerous positions, including Land Development Superintendent, Treasurer, Planning Director, Regional Manager, Vice President of Marketing Operations, and Senior Vice President for Homebuilding Operations.
Osborn has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver (from 2004 to 2008) and was President of the Association in 2008. He also served as the Assistant Chair of the Urban Land Institute's Residential Neighborhood Development Council (Gold Flight) from 2006 through 2008.
Demonstrating his commitment to community involvement, Osborn has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Gabby Krause Foundation since 2006. He has also served on several committees at Good Shepherd Catholic School.
Osborn received Bachelor of Arts degrees in economics and mathematics from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., TRI Pointe Homes plans to establish a regional office in the Denver Tech Center area, where Osborn will be based. That office may be reached by calling 303-598-5970.
The opening of its Colorado office marks a significant expansion of TRI Pointe Homes' home building operations in the western United States. It joins a growing number of TRI Pointe Homes communities throughout California. For more information about TRI Pointe Homes, visit www.TRIPointeHomes.com or at www.facebook.com/TRIPointeHomes.
