YOUNG HARRIS, Ga., Oct. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Get out the frosting and your holiday cheer! It's time to enter Brasstown Valley Resort's Annual Gingerbread House Competition. For the second year the Resort, which is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia, is inviting High Schools from around Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas to put together teams and compete in the Annual Gingerbread House Competition. Up to 17 school teams are invited to enter for the coveted glory of building the best Gingerbread House. Judging will be directed by a team of art and culinary experts. Each competing team will receive a ribbon in recognition of its submission and the top five winning teams will be awarded a cash contribution for use by their school. Last year's winning teams included: Rabun County High School with its entry "Winter Majesty," Marietta High School with "Marietta City Square," and Fannin County High School with "Gotham City."

High School teams have until Nov. 9th to enter the competition. All schools must complete the entry form which is available online at the Resort's website: www.BrasstownValley.com. Also available are the rules and regulations for submission. The entries will be displayed at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa November 17, 2012 through January 1, 2013.
