GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO--(Marketwire - Oct 9, 2012) - Finance students and professionals who attend the College For Financial Planning (CFFP), the nation's premier provider of financial education and the originator of the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) education program, now have access to a more flexible and affordable post-graduate education. As of fall 2012, CFFP offers customizable curricula to fit any schedule as well as an opportunity for Certified Financial Planner™ professionals to waive education credits.
CFFP's three graduate programs -- Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning, Master of Science in Finance and Master of Science in Finance, Financial Analysis Major -- now offer expanded options for busy students and working professionals to select the most convenient degree paths through multiple track options. For example, a Personal Financial Planning student in pursuit of a graduate degree may choose what fits best from among a capstone course, a thesis or additional classes. Students may also tailor their expertise with a graduate certificate in the following areas: Personal Financial Planning, Portfolio Management, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning or Financial Analysis.
"We know that many of our students actively provide financial planning services for individuals, small businesses and other organizations," said Jim Pasztor, master's chair for the College for Financial Planning. "Our new graduate course options connect them with the most convenient and relevant opportunities to expand credentials without sacrificing the ability to work a full-time job. Students learn to think critically for coursework and immediately apply what they've learned for their own clients."
CFFP also eases the tuition strain for CFP® certificants to pursue a graduate degree. Students who attained a certificate or CFP® certification through CFFP have the opportunity to waive up to 15 graduate degree credit hours, a value of over $5,500 in tuition. Financial planners who earned the CFP® certification through another education provider also have a chance to waive up to nine credit hours from their graduate degree education at CFFP.
"Student affordability and accessibility are priorities for the College," said Pasztor. "If a student has already completed relevant coursework through the Certified Financial Planner certification, we are happy to recognize his or her expertise with the option to test out of certain courses via our challenge examinations. This could also speed up graduate degree completion by up to a year."
