AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 22, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shango, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provider to telecommunications service providers today announced that cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) and Collaboration provider SimpleSignal has signed an agreement to utilize the Shango platform and its multi-tenanted application automation feature-set to empower all of its sales channels with increased efficiencies in order to drive the growth of its cloud-based IP service offerings.
As a leader in UC and cloud services, SimpleSignal recognized a growing need to expand its distribution strategies, and that its ambitious goals would require better management abilities for both supply chain and sales channels in order to rapidly scale its product offerings.
The new agreement will enable SimpleSignal to orchestrate SIP and Hosted UC services for both wholesale and enterprise customers across its numerous trading partners by utilizing the common APIs of the cloud-based Shango fulfillment platform.
Shango specializes in standards-based fulfillment for service providers to more easily initiate transactions across various voice applications and wholesale channels.
"Rarely now is any single enterprise customer serviced by infrastructure completely native to a given provider's network," said Dave Gilbert, CEO at SimpleSignal. We partnered with Shango in order to drive revenue, efficiency and velocity of transactions tied to our strategic relationships, while delivering even deeper product offerings for our customers." SimpleSignal will employ the Shango platform and its inherent voice application ecosystem to automate management of its services across its BroadSoft and Sansay switching platforms, while extending Shango APIs to e-bond with its customers, and providing flow-through activation to its resellers and partners.
"We're eager to welcome SimpleSignal into the Shango ecosystem, which sees the growing importance of incorporating increasingly complex IP services from numerous third-party suppliers, and activation across a plurality of sales channels through one interface," said David Walsh, CEO of Shango. "With the addition of each new IP service to the platform, we are seeing validation that the cloud coupled with the Shango platform is creating a higher layer of abstraction within the fabric of IP communications. At Shango, we see a new emerging market that enables services providers to both buy and sell their services through one common platform."
With numerous ITSP and facilities-based service providers utilizing the Shango platform, the company now manages over five Million telephone numbers and is supporting over 1,400 enterprises, which have executed more than four million orders since the platform went live in early 2012. With its customers increasingly driving millions of transactions through the Shango platform monthly, the company is focused on bringing in more connectors, including those for BroadSoft, Sansay, Sonus, Acme and others for SIP Activation, to add to the growing base of trading partners operating within its platform.
The company announced earlier this month that it is expanding its development efforts to enable service providers to drive these transactions through their own wholesale channels.
