CORPAK(R) MedSystems Enhances Features of Second-Generation CORTRAK(R) 2 Enteral Access System(TM)

BUFFALO GROVE, IL--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - CORPAK® MedSystems has released several enhancements to the innovative CORTRAK® 2 Enteral Access System (EAS™), which allows confirmation of feeding tube placement without the need for X-ray verification. Among the enhancements now available are a language selection feature, an additional depth view perspective, and the ability to print all view perspectives for a permanent record of the placement procedure. 

The CORTRAK 2 EAS platform was developed with expansion capabilities so new features can be easily added, enhancing the system's ability to provide real-time visual feedback for safe bedside placement of feeding tubes and additional information to aid in the confirmation of tube tip location. The new Lateral View perspective gives clinicians two depth views to assist in verification of tube tip location, particularly for post pyloric tube placements. 

In addition to the new Lateral View, CORTRAK 2 EAS users will be able to toggle between their preferred views (Anterior, Depth Cross Section and Lateral) during the placement procedure and post procedure during placement playback. 

Also new to CORTRAK 2 EAS is the option to have a printout of the multiple placement views for documentation purposes. The CORTRAK 2 EAS is being rapidly adopted in international markets, so CORPAK has committed to equipping the system with local languages. The first language option is Spanish and CORPAK will be adding other languages in the near future.
