Cabbage Patch Kids® Celebrate Appalachian Christmas, a 34-year Tradition in the Georgia Mountains
CLEVELAND, Ga., Nov. 1, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Appalachian Christmas, a 34 year tradition continues on Nov. 17, at the new BabyLand General Hospital, home of the Cabbage Patch Kids® in Cleveland, GA.
The day starts with a festive, pancake breakfast with Santa in the beautiful, BabyLand Ballroom from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Gifts, prizes and the Cabbage Patch Kid costume character. Reservations required. 706-865-2171, ext. 501. Cost $10.
BabyLand doors open at 9 a.m. Admission is free. The Hospital Staff are busy decorating this beautiful 70,000 sq. ft. home on 650 acres in the Georgia Mountains. The 'Kids will be on their best behavior as they greet visitors to their new family home, graciously influenced by the historic architecture and renowned hospitality of the South.
Ribbons of Christmas lights will be strung on balconies and eaves. Garland will be woven through the grand, spiral staircase. More than 50 themed, Christmas trees include exquisite bows and decorative balls to fun team sports and of course Cabbage Patch Kids. Amongst the trees, wreaths, bows on boughs, look for hundreds of and especially happy and excited babies!
Throughout the day activities include a visit with Santa, Cabbage Patch Kids Costumed Characters, strolling carolers and prize drawings. For youngsters with extra energy, outside activities includes rides, slides, bounce house and bunjee jumping.
New this year is a chance to enjoy Milk and Cookies with Santa. Serving in the Ballroom from 1 to 4 p.m., cost is $5. No reservations required.
End the evening with annual lighting of BabyLand's tree at 5 p.m. Cold enough at the start off the season, look for simulated snow flurries to get into the Holiday Spirit!
