Sionix Corporation Provides Progress Update on the Madava Farms Project

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 6, 2012) - Sionix Corporation (OTCQB: SINX) provided an update today on its Madava Farms - Crown Maple Project in New York. In accordance with its contractual obligations, Sionix personnel recently completed the integration of Sionix technology with the key systems of the Madava Farms syruping process as well as successful onsite testing of the Maple Sap Filtration Unit ("MSFU"). The proposed modifications were agreed upon, particularly as they relate to filtration and aeration components in the evaporative process.

Sionix Chief Science Officer and Vice President of Technical Services Mark Hayes, "With the completion of wet testing and winterization of the unit, we are waiting for sapping season to begin and Crown Maple to revolutionize the maple syrup industry. We are also assisting Madava Farms in the modification of key components of their operation. As each modification is incorporated into the system at the earliest possible date, we expect final construction to be completed by the end of the year."

Sionix personnel will be responsible for the integration of the components of the MSFU components, and its subsequent operation, maintenance, and performance in New York. Sionix anticipates Madava Farms will experience a considerable operating savings in this first year and subsequent years due to the modifications in the evaporative process.

In Canada for 2011, farmers produced 8.6 million gallons of maple syrup and maple syrup products, a 17.6% increase from 2010. The increase was attributed to a favorable season and better yields in many of the maple producing regions.

The total value of maple products, including maple syrup, sugar and butter, was $349.5 million, up 20.1% from 2010. Quebec producers accounted for 90% of maple syrup production in Canada. Quebec's total production in 2011 amounted to 7.7 million gallons, 1 million gallons more than what was produced in 2010. This was due to a longer season along with better yields per tap. The 2011 production was 5.5% less than the record crop of 2009 which reached 8.1 million gallons.

The average price per gallon in Quebec remained relatively steady at $38.17 in 2011, compared to $37.86 in 2010.
