Dr. Sam Sukkar, a board-certified plastic surgeon, is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where the Baton Rouge Medical Society named him "Premedical Student of the Year," and he was honored with a Charles E. Coates Scholarship. He received his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his training in General Surgery at the University of Texas Hermann Hospital in Houston at the Texas Medical Center. During his tenure there, Dr. Sukkar was awarded the Thomas D. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery. Afterward he entered the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where he received his training in aesthetic plastic surgery.
