Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma Begin Production on Tribal Video

Video to Showcase Otoe-Missouria's Commitment to Its Members and Community, Rich History and Success in Business Enterprises Including American Web Loan

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--(Marketwire - Nov 9, 2012) - The Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians, located in Red Rock, Oklahoma has begun production on a video chronicling the tribe's history, contributions to its members and surrounding communities, its deep commitment to and advocacy of Native American sovereignty rights, advancements in business such as American Web Loan and education and promotion of its culture and heritage.

The tribe commissioned Legend Group Studios to handle production of the video. Legend Group Studios principal Chuck Banner is highly regarded for his award-winning documentary work with Native Americans. Beginning in New Mexico in 1980, Banner and his production team have worked with such luminaries as Floyd Red Crow Westerman, Southern California Indian Centers, and Fox Studios to establish the American Indian Summer Institute, one of Hollywood's most successful diversity training partnerships. For over a decade, the AISI introduced over 150 Native American youth and young adults to the entertainment industry coupled with unique hands-on job training opportunities. As part of its production of the video, Legend Group Studios will select four tribal members, ranging in ages from 16 to 18, who will join the production team for a two-day intensive hands-on TV production internship, where they will be introduced to a wide range of related topics, including location lighting, camera techniques, production design and digital media.

"We are excited to bring this experience to youngsters and provide them with an opportunity to get a look behind the scenes at what it takes to mount a professional production. At the same time, our team will benefit from the contributions of four young tribal members as they assist in the area of production logistics," said Banner.

American Web Loan, a core business enterprise for the Otoe-Missouria that will be prominently featured in video, has burgeoned into a leading nationally-respected online financial services company. Based in the company's Red Rock headquarters located near Oklahoma City, American Web Loan is a major employer of both Native Americans and non-Native Americans.

"The video will serve as an effective tool in fostering a better understanding of our tribal history, contributions to our members and surrounding communities and our firm and unwavering commitment to Native American sovereignty," said Sky Campbell, Curriculum Materials Developer for the Otoe-Missouria tribe. "We are pleased to work alongside Chuck Banner and his production crew in bringing our story to the world."

"We look forward to having American Web Loan serve as one glowing examples of the Otoe-Missouria's achievements in business. The success of American Web Loan has helped bring prosperity to the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, with the construction and rehabilitation of tribal homes and further cultivation of tribal lands," said Jamie Schumann, General Manager of American Web Loan.
