WYOMISSING, PA--(Marketwire - Dec 6, 2012) - Weidenhammer, a leading provider of IT services, announced it has achieved third-party certification in its Hosting and Managed Services operation under the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 Type II. This certification is an internationally-recognized standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is the recognized mark of IT service quality.
Weidenhammer's SSAE 16 Type II certification is for one year, and covers 7 specific areas, including: controlled environment, physical security, environmental security, computer operations-backup and storage, computer operations-uptime and maintenance, information security, and data communications.
"This certification provides independent, third-party verification that our operations meet or exceed best practice standards in key IT service areas, ensuring the highest levels of security and reliability," states Rick Phillips, Director. "Being SSAE 16 certified gives our customers and prospects assurance that we have been comprehensively examined by a third party to have sufficient safeguards and controls in place."
Weidenhammer has earned Type II certification, which is more comprehensive than Type I because it incorporates the auditor's judgment on how efficient controls functioned during the defined six-month examination period. Weidenhammer was initially Type II certified in November 2009.
