GrowLife, Inc. Applauds New York City Announcement That it Will Not Jail Citizens for Marijuana Possession

Change Led by Mayor Bloomberg Most Recent Relaxation in Marijuana Regulation

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Feb. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GrowLife, Inc. (OTCQB:PHOT), a provider of highly effective indoor growing technologies, is pleased to report that the trend of relaxation and decriminalization of marijuana continues with the announcement that New York City will not arrest individuals for possession of marijuana.

"Right now, those arrested for possessing small amounts of marijuana are often held in custody overnight. We're changing that," Bloomberg said during his State of the City address yesterday. "Effective next month, anyone presenting an ID and clearing a warrant check will be released directly from the precinct with a desk appearance ticket to return to court. It's consistent with the law, it's the right thing to do and it will allow us to target police resources where they're needed most."

Additionally, Mayor Bloomberg indicated that this new position on marijuana enforcement is simply the first step in his plan to radically change the way the city handles marijuana. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo intends to introduce a bill to decriminalize possession of marijuana under 15 grams, and Bloomberg is on record in support of the initiative.

"It is affirming to see that the trend of decriminalization and relaxation of marijuana laws continues, especially in the most populous city in the country," stated Sterling C. Scott, CEO, Grow Life, Inc. "Not only does Mayor Bloomberg's policy change affect constituents of a metropolitan area that's comprised of nearly 19 million people but it sends a powerful signal to the nation that times are changing very, very quickly. New York City has a history of leadership and seminal moves over a long period of time."
