According to the court documents, this lawsuit arose from a Las Vegas car accident that involved the defendant who was allegedly driving drunk at the time of the crash. The court documents stated that the defendant was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the crash and that the collision occurred when the defendant crossed into the plaintiff's lane of traffic and slammed into her vehicle. 

The court documents went on to state that as a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered multiple serious injuries that included trauma inflicted on her ribs, her neck and her back. Given the serious nature of the injuries suffered, the plaintiff filed the lawsuit seeking damages to compensate her for her medical costs, her lost income and her pain and suffering among other losses.
