RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Mar 4, 2013) - The Ambit Group (Ambit) today formally launched Ambit Health, a new line of business dedicated to delivering solutions that enhance patient care and providers' use of data and information in the healthcare environment. Ambit Health will offer services enabling an integrated healthcare approach through the unification of the components of the health ambit: patient, family, clinician, facility and technology. Ambit Health's goal is to improve patient care, create safer work environments and help administrators make better decisions.
In addition, Ambit is announcing a partnership with Next Health, a manufacturer and marketer of patient transfer and mobility systems, to bring the AgileLife Patient Transfer and Movement System (PTS) into the federal market. The AgileLife PTS is a zero-lift transfer solution that streamlines patient movement from bed to wheelchair in approximately 90 seconds. By increasing the opportunity for mobility, the AgileLife PTS returns independence to disabled and chronically immobile individuals, as well as those who care for them. Ambit will be supporting the AgileLife PTS exhibit at the HIMSS13 Conference and Exhibition, March 3-7 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"As a service disabled veteran, the ability to offer enhanced mobility to our wounded warriors returning from battle is near to my heart," said Kim Hayes, CEO of The Ambit Group. "The AgileLife PTS is an automated hospital bed that has the potential to revolutionize hospital and in-home patient care, both for the disabled individuals and the care provider. We are excited to be launching this system in conjunction with our new healthcare platform at HIMSS13."
As a new core practice area, Ambit Health brings innovative technologies and approaches to advance the quality of care; aligns the people, processes and tools within the client environment; and applies expertise in standards and testing to ensure results meet expectations.
The AgileLife PTS is an integration of several assistive devices that automates the transfer of immobile individuals to and from a hospital bed and wheelchair without any need to lift the patient. This automated process eliminates significant caregiver and patient cost while improving outcomes for all constituents. Through the partnership with Next Health, Ambit will sell and promote the AgileLife PTS to the federal market.
"The AgileLife PTS will help enhance patient delivery across the federal space, most notably to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other military medical facilities," said Ray Curatolo, President, Next Health. "Ambit's strong past performance and expertise in this space made them the clear choice to serve as our federal partner."
Representatives from Ambit Health will be available and the AgileLife PTS will be on display during HIMSS13 (booth #8519), taking place March 3-7, 2013 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. Members of the media interested in a briefing and/or demonstration can contact A.J. Guenther at 571-323-2585 ext. 2130 or aj@connellyworks.com.
