FREMONT, CALIFORNIA--(Marketwire - March 7, 2013) - Enablence Technologies, Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ENA), a leading supplier of optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, is well positioned to supply critical optical components and subsystems for high-speed long-haul and metro networks. Enablence will display products and technologies during OFC/NFOEC 2013 in Anaheim, CA March 19-21 at Booth #3605.
Enablence has started commercial delivery of 8x10G DWDM Transmitter Optical Sub-Assembly (TOSA) and Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly (ROSA) designed for standard CFP packaging. These TOSA/ROSA modules are specialized for metro and long-haul applications. Similar 10x10G TOSA/ROSA are in development and scheduled for release in April 2013. Enablence is now sampling OIF compliant receiver modules for coherent 100G PDM-QPSK systems. These Nx10G TOSA/ROSA and 100G coherent PIC (photonic integrated circuits) products leverage Enablence' proprietary low-loss silica-on-silicon planar lightwave circuit (PLC) technology and its automated capability to hybridly integrate active components. These technologies result in compact high-performance components that can be efficiently scaled into commercial production.
In the ROADM space, Enablence's 8x8 and 8x16 multicast switch modules are being used by multiple tier-1 telecom systems suppliers for routing WDM signals. The multicast switch is a key element for next generation CDC ROADM (colorless, directionless, and contentionless reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer). It is fabricated using a mass-reproducible polymer PLC platform.
Enablence' key staff members have been industry leaders for over 20 years and were the first to commercialize critical products for the telecommunications industry such as the arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) devices, and have been leaders in hybrid integration for over 8 years.
