KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In an effort to continually give back, FREEBIRDS World Burrito, the fast casual burrito joint with a rock 'n' roll attitude, and its charity arm FREEBIRDS World Works, announced today that it will be donating 10% of its proceeds to JJ's, the famous Kansas City restaurant that was lost in a tragic gas explosion on Feb. 19. The fundraiser will take place during normal business hours on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, 2013.
All four of the Midwest restaurants will be participating including Mission (6029 Metcalf Ave), Westport (554 Westport Rd), Lee's Summit (860 NW Blue PKWY) & Lawrence (741 Mass St).
"JJ's was a Kansas City staple and was extremely popular among the Kansas City community," said Bryce Katz, FB Midwest Development Partner for FREEBIRDS. "The entire FREEBIRDS team was very fond of their wonderful cuisine & the extensive wine list."
The proceeds will be presented to the JJ's trust after the fundraiser completes.
