Show Your Pet Appreciation This April

The Pet Experts at Canada's leading pet retailer, Pet Valu and their family of stores, are encouraging animal lovers to lend a paw this April to help pets in need.

April is Pet Appreciation Month at the Pet Valu, Paulmac's and Bosley's stores - dedicated to raising money and supplies to support abandoned, homeless and abused animals in communities across the country. 100% of the products and dollars that are raised go towards local pet charities, rescues and shelters.

"In 2012, Pet Valu stores raised more than $1,000,000 for pets in need," says Julie Johnston, VP, Marketing and Merchandising, Pet Valu. "Last year, during our Pet Appreciation event alone, we raised over $600,000 for local pets in need. We're working hard to exceed our 2013 goal of $825,000 this April with the help of generous and caring animal lovers."

Here's how you can help:

• Visit any Pet Valu, Paulmac's or Bosley's store throughout the month of April, purchase and sign an official PAW for $1, $2, $5 or $10 and help local pet shelters and charities in your community.

• Participate in weekend donation drives from April 5^th - 7^th and April 12^th - 14^th and donate pet food, supplies and toys in-store. Find out in-store what your charity needs most.

• Participate in National Adoption Weekend from April 19^th - 21^st. Visit Pet Valu, Paulmac's or Bosley's locations and give a forever home to a pet in need.
