LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Emerson Poynter LLP announced today that it has initiated an investigation into the ExxonMobil Pegasus Pipeline Oil Spill in Mayflower, Arkansas. In continuing its investigation and in preparation for possible litigation the firm has hired a renowned real estate expert to establish loss of real estate market values in the Mayflower area. Tom Ferstl is the owner of Affiliated Appraisers in Little Rock, which was established more than 45 years ago and is one of the oldest real estate appraisal firms in Arkansas. While many of Mayflower's residents are being placed in area hotels by ExxonMobil, and have had some of their short-term needs addressed, the long-term problems associated with this devastating oil spill remain a big concern. For example, on April 2, 2013, a private meeting was held between Mayflower, Arkansas residents and ExxonMobil. Some residents asked if ExxonMobil would purchase their homes due to the damages they sustained, or whether it would address the diminution of their homes' values due to the spill. But those questions went unanswered.
