Katy Perry Added to Panelists at ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO, Featuring Lionel Richie, Ne-Yo, Diplo and Big Sean

Full Schedule and Lineup for Three-Day Conference Now Available

NEW YORK, NY and LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 5, 2013) - The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is pleased to announce the complete schedule and lineup of panelists and programming for the 8th annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO, taking place April 18th-20th, 2013 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel (formerly known as the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel) in Los Angeles, CA.

In addition to signature keynote interviews, master classes, hitmaker panels and top-notch performances, ASCAP will once again bring together a diverse group of music creators and industry professionals to participate in a broad range of panels designed to support music creators at every stage of their career. The EXPO will also provide attendees with several opportunities to get their music heard -- and receive honest feedback and advice -- through a variety of panels and showcases.

Just added is an "I Create Music" Interview with chart-topping pop sensation Katy Perry, who will speak with ASCAP EVP of Membership Randy Grimmett. The world fell in love with Katy Perry in 2008, the year she released the multi-platinum One of the Boys, and topped the charts with its first single "I Kissed a Girl." She has since set sales and chart records with her album, Teenage Dream, earning dozens of industry accolades including Billboard's Woman of the Year. While Katy has blossomed into one of today's biggest and boldest pop stars, her success has been hard-won. In the ten years leading up to her major label debut on Capitol, Katy was signed to three record labels, yet remained true to her artistic vision throughout the process. Katy Perry is no manufactured pop princess -- she wrote or co-wrote her songs every step of the way, including the record-breaking six #1 singles from Teenage Dream. Katy's story is one of both talent and perseverance, and she'll share the ups and downs of the journey in this keynote interview.
