Details of the new capabilities in PhantomPDF 6.0 include:
Paragraph Editing
Paragraph editing provides editing capabilities similar to that of word processing software. PhantomPDF automatically identifies text boxes and allows users to paragraph edit within that text box. Paragraph editing capabilities include:
- Automatically reflows and reformats text in the text box as you edit it. Just add or delete content without worrying about the layout.
- Edit the font of PDF text by changing type, style, size, color, and effect. Align text left, center, or right, while choosing from multiple line spacing options.
- Automatically changes the color of edited text, making it easy for others to review and approve changes. This option can be turned on and off by the user.
- Underlines misspelled words within the chosen text box.
- Align objects on the left, middle, or center. Distribute objects horizontally or vertically. Rotate, flip, or shear objects.

PDF Form Creation
PhantomPDF 6.0 offers two new capabilities which allow quick and easy development of interactive PDF forms through automated form field recognition and editing. The Form Field Recognition tool will identify likely form fields in PDF documents. The user can then touch up the resulting file to develop interactive forms. The Designer's Assistant will allow users to click on a form field and the field will automatically be fitted into the likely space that the field should occupy -- providing one-click form field development.
New Ribbon-based Toolbar
Foxit PhantomPDF updated its user interface with a ribbon-based toolbar based on Microsoft® Office® 2013 (Office 15) style design. This new user interface toolbar provides Foxit PhantomPDF users with a familiar user experience. A ribbon is an interface which provides graphical command buttons organized in tabs based on function. It is a more intuitive and efficient way for users to find, comprehend, and execute commands with a minimum number of mouse clicks and dramatically reduces the need to resort to trial and error or having to read the user manual.
For existing PhantomPDF users who prefer traditional pull-down menus, Foxit PhantomPDF can still be used in Classic Mode.

Sign Documents with PDF Sign
PDF Sign allows users to sign documents with their own handwriting. PDF Sign signatures can be created from an image of your signature or by writing it yourself on touch enabled desktop systems or tablets. Users can create multiple signatures, for example, a full signature and an initial signature. Users can quickly and easily manage, place, and apply these signatures -- enabling effortless PDF document signing.

Read and Search PDF Portfolios
A PDF portfolio is a PDF made up of a collection of multiple files, which can include both PDF files and non-PDF files such as Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or images. Foxit PhantomPDF can open and read PDF portfolios and perform searches either within a single file or across all PDF files in the portfolio.
Editing Scanned Documents
When scanning a hardcopy document into PDF, the resulting PDF document is an image, meaning that text cannot be searched, cannot be cut and pasted into another application, or edited. Users typically OCR (Optical Character Recognition) the document to solve the first two issues, making the text searchable and able to be cut and pasted. In PhantomPDF 6.0, users can OCR scanned documents and chose Editable Text mode. Editable Text mode will allow the resulting OCRed file to be edited using paragraph editing. This is extremely valuable if you need to edit documents where you only have a hardcopy of the document. Users can also export the resulting PDF document to Microsoft Office file formats, enabling hardcopy to PDF to Office conversions.

Drag and Drop Pages Between Documents
Many times users want to re-use pages from one PDF document into other PDF documents. PhantomPDF 6.0 allows users to utilize the page panel to drag and drop pages from one PDF document to other PDF documents quickly and easily. These pages can be moved from documents displayed in multiple tabs within one PhantomPDF instance or across documents displayed in multiple PhantomPDF instances. This was a very popular enhancement request from current users.

This allows users to search for PDF documents located on their desktop system using Windows search by using search terms based on the document's content, title, subject, author, keywords, annotations, bookmarks, attachments, and more.
Integrate with Evernote
Evernote is a unified collection of apps that help people remember everything, get things done, and communicate effectively. Evernote runs on desktops and mobile devices. Foxit PhantomPDF users can now create a PDF as an attachment to an Evernote note. In addition, PhantomPDF provides an Evernote print driver, which will allow any applications with printing capability to convert documents into PDF and automatically put the resulting PDF document as an attachment into an Evernote note.
Other enhancements include:
- Improved File Compression - reduce the size of the PDF file. This makes it easier to share PDF files with others and to reduce required disk space.
- PDF A, E, and X Creation and Validation - validate and create compliant PDF documents for archiving (A), engineering (E), and print production (X).
